debaux-debconf software package provides Perl Interface to Debconf, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install debaux-debconf
debaux-debconf is installed in your system.
Make ensure the debaux-debconf package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep debaux-debconf *
You will get with debaux-debconf package name, version, architecture and description in a table
